Emoji reactions let you respond quickly to messages without sending a new message. They’re available on both web and mobile, and can be used in any type of chat message - text, image, video, or voice.
How to add or remove a reaction
On web:
- Hover over a message to see the emoji icon.
- Click the icon and choose an emoji reaction.
- To remove or change your reaction, click the same emoji again or select a different one.
On mobile:
- Long press a message to open the reaction menu.
- Tap an emoji to add your reaction.
- Tap again to remove it, or select a different one to change it.
Viewing reactions
You can see how others reacted by clicking or tapping the emoji icons below a message. This shows a full list of users who reacted and which emoji they chose.
Default emoji set
👍 👎 ❤️ 😂 🎉 🙁
Each user can add one reaction per message, and reactions won’t send push or in-app notifications. They also don’t move chats to the top of your chat list, keeping conversations focused and clutter-free.
Custom emoji
Global Admins can customize the set of six default emojis to better fit their organization’s culture.
This can be managed in the Dashboard → Settings → General → Chat Emoji Reactions section.
