The Tasks feature in Beekeeper allows users to create, assign, and manage tasks. Understanding the permissions for viewing, updating, and deleting tasks is crucial for efficient task management. This article outlines the permissions associated with different actions in the Tasks feature.
Visibility of Tasks
Tasks are visible to the following individuals:
- Assignee or Approver: The person assigned to the task or who needs to approve it.
- Creator: The individual who created the task.
- Group or Location Members: For open tasks, any member of the group or location that the task is open to can view the task.
- Global Administrator: Any user with global admin privileges.
Updating the Assignee
The assignee of a task can be updated by:
- Group or Location Administrator: Any admin of the group or location to which the task is open. The user must be an admin of the specific group or location to which the task is being updated.
A Group or Location administrators can also reassign tasks that are not open if they created them.
- Group or Location Members: Any group or location member may assign a task open to a group or location that they are part of to themselves if the task is not assigned yet.
- Global Administrator: Any user with global admin privileges.
Deleting a Task
A task can be deleted by:
- Creator: The individual who created the task.
- Group or Location Administrator: Any admin of the group or location to which the task is open.
- Global Administrator: Any user with global admin privileges.
Updating the Creator of a Task
The creator of a task cannot be updated
Editing a Task
A task can be edited by:
- Creator: The individual who created the task.
