Storage Space
The app itself can use up to 50MB of storage space, but this can increase with new updates. On top of this will be the space taken up by documents and data and this will depend on what you have stored in your app.
Data Usage
On average, Beekeeper uses 60MB - 140MB of data per month, depending on how frequently you use the app and how much rich stream content (images and videos) you view. On the other hand, popular social media apps use a significant GB share, so the Beekeeper app is very slim in comparison with them in data consumption.
The app stores data
1. to speed up the display the next time, and
2. to avoid reloading the same data over and over again.
The amount of data thus varies from very different factors, such as the device and operating system, how often the app is used, what content is consumed (e.g. amount of posts/videos/images, how often things are downloaded or forms are filled out).
In general, all the data that the mobile apps store is just a cache, which means that the data stored in the app is just a copy of the actual data stored on the server. This allows our apps to periodically clear their own data, keeping the storage footprint relatively small. Generally, we store images and files between 7 and 14 days. After that, they may have to be downloaded again.
