Best Practices for Shortcuts Widgets
💡 Keep it Focused
Avoid cluttering a single widget with too many links. If you have 20+ shortcuts, consider breaking them into two separate widgets with distinct titles (e.g., "Daily Tools" and "HR Support"). We will display up to 8 shortcuts in a single widget.
💡 Use Descriptive Titles
Since the widget title is what users see first on their mobile app or desktop home screen, make it action-oriented so they know exactly what they’ll find inside.
💡 Inherited Order
Note: The order of shortcuts within the widget is inherited from the original order set in the global Shortcuts section of the Toolbox. If you want to change the sequence, you must adjust the master list in the Toolbox.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can see these widgets? The visibility depends on device and individual shortcuts settings.
Who can set up these widgets? Only global administrators can set up widgets on home configuration.
Does deleting a shortcut from a widget delete it from Beekeeper? No. Removing a shortcut from a widget only removes it from that specific view. The original shortcut remains safe in your Toolbox.
Can I add multiple Custom Shortcut Widgets to home configuration? Yes! You can add as many Custom Shortcut Widgets as you wish.
Can I add the same shortcut to multiple widgets? Yes! A shortcut (like "Report an Incident") can live in both a "Safety" widget and a "Manager" widget simultaneously.
