Stream RSS Integration
This article will help you, as an admin user, to add RSS Feeds (from sources such as Twitter, Facebook or other RSS feed service) to the streams that you are managing. Just follow these steps:
Go to the Dashboard and click on Streams. Then select the desired stream to configure RSS and select the tab Integrations. In the example below, the stream General was selected.
As it is shown in the image, the integrations can be divided in two categories:
- RSS Feed: this can be any RSS source from third party services (e.g. Twitter)
- Facebook Page: Any facebook page.
For the purpose of this guide, the configuration of both options will be configured for one stream. It is up to you to configure one or both options in your stream, depending of your particular needs.
The RSS Feed configuration starts by clicking the RSS Feed button and it will ask for a URL for the RSS feed. Here it is assumed that you know in advance the RSS feed URL from the service that you want to integrate with beekeeper.
In addition, there are two more options:
- Only import the article summary with a link to the article: if enabled, links included in the post will be active.
- All content goes to the moderation inbox: if activated sends the messages to the moderation inbox to wait for publication authorization from the moderator.
For the purpose of this example a Twitter account is selected, then the RSS URL is introduced and default options are selected.
Click the Save button and the Twitter account will be integrated in the stream as shown below.
As a result the post of this twitter account will be streamed into the stream and will be refreshed every 15 minutes.
The configuration of the Facebook page is similar but instead of adding an URL, the pageId is required. The way to find the pageId in facebook is by entering the desired Facebook page and copy the value after the Facebook domain. For example in our case, the Facebook page Beekeeper Social with URL: https://www.facebook.com/BeekeeperSocial/ is used, then the pageId is BeekeeperSocial.
Once the pageId is introduced, click on save and you should see all the integrations configured in the Integrations section in your stream (In this case the Twitter and Facebook page).
Finally, save the configuration and your stream is ready to receive the content from your favorite data RSS sources.
